WORCESTER – Paul K. Johnston, 94, of Briarwood Circle, formerly of Holden, died Wednesday, August 4, 2004 in Knollwood Nursing Center after an illness.
He leaves his wife, Muriel (Norton) Sweeney Johnston; two step-sons, James R. Sweeney of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Paul F. Sweeney of Hubbardston; three step-daughters, Patricia A. Stuck of Sagamore Beach, Patricia M. LeBeau of Sandwich and Nancy E. Burnham of Middlefield; nine step-grandchildren; and four step-great grandchildren. He was born and raised in Gardner, son of John H. and Mary L. (Clifford) Johnston, and lived 40 years in Holden.
Mr. Johnston worked in the shipping department at Heywood-Wakefield Company in Gardner for 49 years. He was a World War II Army Veteran.
The funeral service for Mr. Johnston will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 7, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Boylston Street (Rte. 140), Shrewsbury. Calling hours are from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, August 7, in the funeral home.
