HOLDEN – Paul J. Marois, 62, of 718 Brightside Crescent Drive, Venice, Florida, formerly of Holden, died Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at home.
He leaves his wife of 25 years, Mary Suzanne (Pelletier) Marois; a son, Marc M. and his wife Amy Marois of Tempe, Arizona; a daughter, Melissa A. and her husband Peter Lopez of Whittier, California; a sister, Phyllis Delude of Harwich; seven grandchildren, Samantha, Julian and Jacob Lopez, Mitchell, Skylar, Luke and Brooklynn Marois; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jane and Edward McTigue of Paxton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A brother, Robert Marois, predeceased him. He was born in Holden, son of Rosario A. and Anna (Yanch) Marois. He graduated from Wachusett Regional High School, Worcester Jr. College and the Mass. State Police Academy, class of 1964.
Mr. Marois was a former state trooper. He also worked in retail security in Arizona, California and Texas and more recently for Lamoureux Ford in East Brookfield. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church, the Plantation Golf & Country Club and the Plantation Community Foundation. He was also a member of the Former Mass. State Police Association.
The funeral Mass for Mr. Marois will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 23, in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery, 251 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of Southwest Florida, 220 Wexford Blvd., Venice, FL. 34293.
