Paul J. Gradowski

RUTLAND - Paul J. Gradowski, 63, died Monday, August 4, 2014. He was born in Holden and raised in Rutland. He was a son of the late Stanley J. and Florence M. (Grenier) Gradowski and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and UMass-Amherst with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Prior to his retirement, Paul worked in the manufacturing field. He spent 28 years of his career with Norton Company-Saint Gobain in Worcester as a manufacturing engineer and retired as a computer engineer in 2007. Paul enjoyed spending countless hours outdoors with his beloved wife of 20 years, Debbie. Whether it was the summers spent camping with friends, out riding his Harley or in his new RV around New England and across the roads of this beautiful country, Paul loved every minute of it. He was a great cook and also enjoyed kayaking, skiing, hiking, biking including to work in his dress clothes and SCUBA diving in his younger years. Memories of growing up near Comet Pond in his youth always had Paul longing to spend more time near the water in his later years. Family also meant the world to Paul. Whether it was being together with his wife, children, granddaughters, siblings or the “cousins”, time spent sharing stories, reminiscing and laughing were special for him.

Besides his wife, Deborah L. (Chase), Paul leaves his two daughters, Corinna L. Frohock and her husband, James of Rutland and Meghann E. Kimball and her fiancé, George Fortier of Brookfield; his brother, Stanley J. Gradowski, Jr. and his wife, Peggy of Millers Falls; his two sisters, Lynne M. McGlynn and her husband, Danny of Rutland and Anne M. Poole and her husband, Billy of Barre; six granddaughters; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Dennis and Wayne.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Paul family on Sunday, August 10, from 5-7 p.m. at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A funeral service celebrating Paul’s life will be held on Monday, August 11, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by burial in Rural Cemetery, Rutland.
