Paul G. Dunn

WEBSTER – Paul G. Dunn, 67, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018 in the presence of his loving family at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester. Born and raised in Queens, New York, Paul was the son of George M. and Anna M. (McDonnell) Dunn and lived the last 15 years in Webster.Paul graduated from Msgr. McClancy High School in Jackson Heights, New York. After graduating from the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia, Paul honorably served his country during the Vietnam era as a 1st Lieutenant with the United States Army from 1972 to 1975. He remained in the U.S. Army Reserve the following several years. While working as an underwriter for Safeco Insurance Company in Edgewater, New Jersey, Paul met and fell in love with Susan Bakst of Hackensack, New Jersey. They married on November 18, 1979 in Hackensack and lived in the New Jersey area before moving to Webster in 2003.Paul worked at Hanover Insurance Company for several years before taking the position as Site Coordinator at Veterans Inc. in Worcester. He was selfless by nature and volunteered his time at both Tri Valley Elder Services, where he assisted seniors with their finances, and Veterans Inc. in Worcester. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed collecting and reading military history books. First and foremost, Paul was a family man. He was proud of his daughters and their accomplishments, and simply enjoyed spending time at home with his wife, Susan. He will be remembered for his kindness, strong work ethic, generosity and perseverance.Paul will be lovingly missed by his wife of 38 years, Susan D. (Bakst) Dunn; two daughters, Lauren R. Dunn of Fairfax, VA and Marissa A. Lynch and her husband, Brandon of Holden; two brothers, Stephen Dunn of Long Island City, NY and Rev. Michael Dunn with the Diocese of Trenton, New Jersey; a sister, Mary Koenig of Bayside, Queens, NY; two grandchildren, Alexandra Perini and Emilia Lynch; nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Paul’s family from 9 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 1 at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A memorial service honoring Paul's life will follow at 11 am. Burial in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be private.
