Paul J. Buerlen

RUTLAND/NATICK – Paul J. Buerlen passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 19, 2015. Paul’s wife and children were by his side. His determination to stay strong and courageous, since his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in 2012, was admired by his family and friends.

Paul will be sorely missed by his wife, Rachel H. (Hollerorth) Buerlen; his son, Jason P. Buerlen and his daughter, Holly E. Buerlen. He is also survived by his sister, Susan P. Miller and her husband, Michael; his nephew, Michael Greska and his wife, Michelle; and his father-in-law, Rev. Hugo Hollerorth and his companion, Diane Engel. Paul was predeceased by his mother and father, Helen and Paul Buerlen, and his sister-in-law, Rebecca (Hollerorth) Hunter.

Paul was a 1973 graduate of Natick High School. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy. During that time he was able to serve his country proudly and discover his talent and skill as an aviation technician. Paul later went on to earn his degree as a Bio Medical Technologist. At the time of his death he was employed by Johnson and Johnson and represented the company with distinction as a field service engineer.

A celebration of life for Paul will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Worcester, 90 Holden Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Buddy Dog Humane Society, 151 Boston Post Rd., Sudbury, MA 01776.
