Biography
STERLING – Paul W. Batura, Jr., 71, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2012, at Clinton Hospital after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 49 years, Janet P. (Stoddard) Batura, two sons, Michael Batura and his wife Susan and Timothy Batura, all of Denver; two daughters, Michelle and her husband Francis Rayne, Jr. of Billerica and Marcia Robles of Sterling; a sister, Helen Kiley of South Dennis; seven grandchildren, Marcus and Marc Anthony Robles, both of Sterling, Timothy Saul Batura of Centential, CO, Nathan Batura of Friendship, Texas, Jonathan Batura of Houston, TX, Kay Lynne Hoffman of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Megan Batura of Denver, Colorado; and several nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Edward and Francis Batura and a sister, Pauline Hoisington, predeceased him.

Paul was born in Fitchburg, the son of Paul D. and Stephina (Lakutis) Batura and had lived in Fitchburg before moving to Sterling 40 years ago. He worked at East Side Oil Company of Leominster for many years. Paul loved vacationing in Wells, Maine and spending time with his grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, at the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UMass Memorial Foundation, Heart Research Fund, 365 Plantation Street, Suite 100, Worcester, MA 01605-2395.
