Patsy Damico

STERLING – Patsy Damico of Sterling passed away peacefully on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Worcester. He was 96. Born and raised in Worcester, Patsy was the son of Italian immigrants, Frank and Angelina (Guerra) Damico and lived 47 years in Sterling.Patsy graduated from Worcester Boy’s Trade High School and later enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps in 1942.  He honorably served his country as a sergeant and airplane mechanic in the Asiatic Pacific Theater until 1946. After returning home, resumed his career as a mechanic and worked 30 years for Esso Gas Stations retiring and then for Govoni Contracting in 1983.He was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Church in Sterling and enjoyed gardening and spending time puttering around the house.His beloved wife of 70 years, Helen M. (Rondeau) Damico died in 2016. He will be affectionately remembered and missed by his two sisters, Agnes R. Zingarelli of Worcester and Dolores M. Senecal of Palm Bay, Florida; and many nephews and nieces.Family and friends will honor Patsy’s life by gathering at Miles – Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd. from 8:30 to 9:30 am on Saturday, October 21, followed by a procession to St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge St., Sterling where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge St., Sterling, MA 01564.
