STERLING – Patrick Allen Stevens, age 72, died peacefully at home on Monday, March 14, 2022, surrounded by the loving presence of his family.
Born in Bethesda, MD, Patrick was the son of Donald and Mary (Ryan) Stevens. He graduated from Springbrook High School in Silver Spring, after which Patrick proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Following his military service, Patrick pursued a career in public safety, serving as Fire Chief for the Town of Spring Lake, NC Fire Department for decades. Once retired from fire service he worked for Better Living Patio Rooms for many years. Later, Patrick became a team member at Tractor Supply,where he continued to work until the beginning of March.
Patrick will be lovingly missed and remembered by his devoted wife, Linda (Ford) Stevens of Sterling; his sons, John Stevens of Sterling and Patrick Stevens, Jr. of Germany; his daughters, Heather Stevens of Sterling and Danielle Stevens of TX; his sisters, Donna Gscheidle and her husband, John of Westminster, MD, and Jackie Ratliff of Glenn Allen, VA; and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Harry “Tinker” Nelson and his sister, Mary Jo Nelson.
Patrick loved the outdoors, whether on the golf course, hunting or riding his Harley. A Master Mason, he had been a longtime member of Ft. Bragg Lodge #677 in Spring Lake, NC.
Family and friends will gather for Memorial Calling Hours from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday, March 23, at Miles-Sterling Funeral & Tribute Center, 100 Worcester, Road, Sterling.
