RUTLAND/NEWMARKET, NH – Patrick T. McGann, 60, passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side on Thursday, November 1, 2018 after a long illness. He was born in Worcester, the son of John D., Sr. and Althea (Pratt) McGann and had lived in Rutland and Missouri before moving to Newmarket, NH in 2005.
He leaves his loving wife of 24 years, Wendy (Drew) McGann; his daughter, Wendy Dyer of MA; his step-daughter, Mellissa Macaluso of Waterville, ME; two brothers, Leo F. McGann and his wife, Darlene of Jefferson and James T. McGann of Rutland; two sisters, Janet A. McGann of Ashland and Alethea E. Quinn of Jefferson; his grandson, Ethan Hobart; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins.
Patrick graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1977 and earned his associates degree from Bunker Hill Community College in 1984. He was a certified respiratory therapist in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Alaska and Missouri for many years before retiring in 2003 due to his illness. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Rutland, enjoyed the great outdoors and was an avid skier especially skiing Mount Alyeska in Alaska.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 4th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Funeral services for Patrick will be held on Monday, November 5th with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick’s Church, 290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. Interment will follow in Rural Cemetery in Rutland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, Burn Unit, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114-2699.
