HOLDEN - Patricia (Bergstedt) White, 70, of Holden, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in her home following a six-year battle with Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Dementia. She was the wife of Rodney A. White of Holden.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Doris (Bray) and Sven Bergstedt. She leaves her two children, her daughter, Amy (Benson) Stein and her husband, David and their children, Marlo and Louis of Newton, and her son, Chris Benson and his partner, Cynthia of Plymouth; her three sisters, Cynthia Bergstedt and her husband, Mark of Paxton, Linda Szczypien of Fiskdale, and Debra Culberson and her husband, Harry of Worcester; an aunt, Britta Jenkins of N.C; many nieces and nephews; and three stepchildren, Kendre Smith and her sons, Walker and Derek, Bryan White and his wife, Kimberly and their sons, Sam and Nathan, and Steven White and his wife, Maria and their daughter, Allison. She is predeceased by her brother, Eric Bergstedt.
Pat worked for many years as a salesperson and bookkeeper at Benson’s clothing in Holden. She started her banking career at Peoples Bank in the mid 1990s and retired from Bank North on Main Street in Worcester in 2006.
She loved gardening, dancing, walking, going to the beach and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She and her husband, Rod spent 11 years ballroom dancing with their close friends at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Worcester where they danced competitively for four of those years.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Rod and her entire family.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with Pat’s family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 14, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral service celebrating Pat’s life will be held on Saturday, March 15, at 11 a.m. at the Greendale People’s Church, 25 Francis St., Worcester, MA 01606. Burial at Mooreland Cemetery will be held privately in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greendale People’s Church or to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047.
