Patricia A. 'Patsy' (Ryan) Celona

WORCESTER - Patricia A. "Patsy" (Ryan) Celona, 75, loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, died peacefully on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at The Jewish Healthcare Center, Worcester. She was born in New York City, the daughter of Alice (Dervin) Ryan and grew up on the Acre in Clinton before living in Worcester for 47 years. Patsy graduated from Hudson Catholic High School with the class of 1960. She went on to work for Norton Co. for 28 years as a computer operator, retiring in 2005. Patsy married the love of her life and husband of 53 years, Stephen J. Celona on August 29, 1964 at Holy Rosary Church in Clinton. The couple lived in Clinton before settling in Worcester in 1971. Patsy had a passion for reading and truly enjoyed her crossword puzzles. She treasured her summers in York Beach, Maine and her timeshare in St. Martin with her family and close friends. Most of all, Patsy cherished her family and being a grandmother. Patsy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Stephen J. Celona of Worcester; her daughter, Laurie A. Goodrich of Millbury; her sons, Stephen F. Celona and his wife, Nina of Mountainside, NJ and David M. Celona and his wife, Karen of Holden; her sister, Joan Scheid of Clinton; her brother, Francis Ryan of Wheelwright; her grandchildren, Gina Goodrich and Christina, John and Joseph Celona; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Ryan. The Celona family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the PCU at St. Vincent Hospital and The Jewish Healthcare Center for the exceptional and compassionate care they gave to Patsy and her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5th at St. George's Church 38 Brattle St., Worcester. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Parker Rd., Lancaster, MA.
