Patricia A. (O'Grady) King

February 26, 1940 — January 18, 2025

HOLDEN – Patricia A. (O’Grady) King passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Patricia was born in Worcester, daughter of Frederick and Emily (Beaulac) O'Grady. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel A. King (2019), and her sister, June M. (O’Grady) Kelly (2021).

Patricia and Daniel were happily married for 57 years. They produced two wonderful children, Daniel S. King of Holden, and Lauren E. Nolan of Worcester. She leaves behind three grandchildren, Holly Brown and Lucas and Charles Nolan. She also leaves behind her beloved brother-in-law, John King of Bunker Hill, WV; her nieces, Caroline Robillard of Worcester and Erin Kelly-Medina of Norristown, PA; her sister-in-law, Barbara King of Millbury; and many more dear nieces and nephews.

Patricia was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, Worcester State College, Assumption College, and Fitchburg State College. She started her career as a teacher in the Worcester area before working as a counselor and school psychologist for many years in the Spencer/East Brookfield and Wachusett Regional School Districts. She was also an adjunct professor in child development at Anna Maria College and Quinsigamond Community College.

Patricia was a member of the board of directors of the Holden Woman’s Club, a member of a writers’ group at Assumption University through WISE, and a long-time member of the Princeton Art Society. Patricia and Daniel enjoyed life together after retirement with frequent travel and summers spent on Cape Cod. The company of their children brought them great delight. Patricia had a happy and fulfilling life with family and friends whom she loved very much.

A memorial service for Patricia will be held early this year. Details will be announced as soon as arrangements have been finalized. All family members, friends and acquaintances are welcome to attend. Burial will be private.
