Patricia A. (Bagdonas) Puccetti

WEST BOYLSTON – Patricia A. (Bagdonas) Puccetti, 68, of Shrine Avenue, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, May 6, 2011.
Her husband of 36 years, Fernando Puccetti, died in 2000. She is survived by her two sons, Mark Louis Puccetti and Joseph Peter Puccetti, his wife Michelle and their children Emileigh, Hayden and Hayleigh Puccetti, all of West Boylston. Her sister, Catherine Bagdonas, predeceased her. She was born in Athol, daughter of Alphonse D. and Blanche (Staraitis) Bagdonas, and has lived in West Boylston for the last 45 years. She was a 1961 graduate of Putnam Catholic Academy in Putnam, Connecticut.
Pat devoted her life to helping the senior citizens of West Boylston by starting one of the region's first senior centers in the Town of West Boylston. She served as program coordinator then as director, a position she held for 25 years retiring in 2002. She received grants to computerize the Senior Center, negotiated with the WRTA to operate a senior van giving the seniors of West Boylston transportation to-and-from their doctor appointments, shopping trips and personal activities. She also made meals in her home and coordinated meals at West Boylston High School for people she knew were not receiving hot meals; took seniors in her own van for outings including the Clinton dam and "going out for ice cream"; and started her own knitting, crossword puzzle and jigsaw puzzle groups.
Pat was a kind and caring person who was always willing to help someone in need. She enjoyed classical music and Thayer Symphony concerts, sewing and knitting and volunteering at the Uniform Outlet in West Boylston. She was devoted to her family especially her grandchildren.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 12th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 13th, at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, 32 Church Street, West Boylston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the West Boylston Council on Aging, 127 Hartwell Street, Suite 100, West Boylston, MA 01583.
