STERLING - Joseph Pandolf, 88, formerly of Meeting House Hill Rd., died on Saturday, January 12, 2008, in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, Worcester after an illness.

His wife, Aurora L. (Boldrigini) Pandolf died in 1985. He leaves his daughter, Karen L. Cronenberger and her husband Richard of Shrewsbury; a brother, Harold Pandolf of Needham; a step-granddaughter, Cori A. Hill of Westford, Vermont; and a close friend and campanion of 14 years, Ruth Johnson of Sterling. A son, Kevin A. Pandolf; three brothers, Paul, Harry, and Anthony Pandolf; and three sisters, Florence and Velina Salvucci, and Eva Petrini predeceased him. He was born and raised in Needham the son of Mario and Elisa (Semprucci) Pandolf and lived over 60 years in Sterling.

Mr. Pandolf graduated from Needham High School and Burdett College in Boston. He was the president and a co-owner, along with his brothers, of Mario Pandolf Co. and Pandolf Quarry, Inc. in Sterling. He was a member of the First Church in Sterling and the Sterling Lion's Club. He was a long time supporter of the Sterling youth little league program and sponsored the "Sterling Crushers".

A memorial service for Mr. Pandolf will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 25, in The First Church in Sterling, 6 Meeting House Hill Road, Sterling. Burial will be private in Needham Cemetery, Needham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, 559 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01605, or the Sterling Council on Aging, P.O. Box 243, Sterling, MA 01564. Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte 12), Sterling is directing arrangements.
