S Elaine O. (Thomas) Aleaus

STERLING – Elaine O. (Thomas) Draleaus, 75, of Sterling, died Thursday, January 1, 2009 surrounded by her loving family in the St. Francis Home, Worcester, after an illness.

Her husband of 42 years, William L. Draleaus, died in 1997. She leaves two sons, Daniel W. Draleaus and his wife Karen of Northbridge and Matthew J. Draleaus and his wife Tricia of Sterling; two daughters, Debra A. Bria of her husband Angelo of Sterling and Susan M. Gonet and her husband Jeffrey of Clinton; three brothers, John Thomas of Worcester, Robert Thomas of Fitchburg and Peter Thomas of Leominster; four sisters, Sylvia Tebo of Northborough, Esther Picone and Nancy Byrne both of Leominster, and Mary Jane Roy of Athol; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; many nephews and nieces. She was born in Leominster, the daughter of Eli J. and Agnes (Mercier) Thomas, and lived in Lancaster before moving to Sterling in 1970.

Mrs. Draleaus was a graduate of Leominster High School and worked as a Medical Transcriptionist for the U.S. Army/Dept. of Defense at Ft. Devens. She was a member of St. Cecilia Church.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 5th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. The funeral for Mrs. Draleaus will be held on Tuesday, January 6th, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Cecilia Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Clinton Road (Rte. 62), Sterling. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis Home, 101 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
