WORCESTER – Patricia O. (Heslin) Kelleher, 74, of Worcester, died from complications of scleroderma on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, in Saint Vincent Hospital. She was a long time resident of Radius Health Care.
Pat is survived by her children, Trish Tonna of Jefferson, Daniel Kelleher and his wife Joni Maloney-Kelleher of Jefferson, Mary Kelleher Baer of Holden and Kelly King and husband Michael of Plymouth; her adored and cherished grandchildren, Katie and Daniel Kelleher of Jefferson, Daniel Tonna of Jefferson, Abigail and Benjamin Baer of Holden and Maeve and Finnian King of Plymouth; a twin sister, Veronica McGreevy and nephews Joseph McGreevy, both of Brooklyn; long time companion, Mark Mancini, and a dear friend, Patricia DiBenedetto. She was predeceased by her first husband Daniel J. Kelleher, second husband Ernest Gallant, son-in-law Elliot Tonna and nephew Lawrence McGreevy. She was born and educated in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Lawrence and Gladys (Sedgwick) Heslin.
Pat was employed at Doctor’s Hospital as an Alcoholism Counselor for several years. She opened the first Alcohol Unit along with Bill Hallinan at Doctor’s Hospital, now known as Ad-Care. She also taught in the first DUI First Offender Program and alcohol and drug out patient counseling for the Bancroft Human Services of Worcester. She was promoted to Clinical Manager of the DUI Program & Outpatient Counseling. Pat loved to help others and was known for her quick wit and sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading and vacationing on Cape Cod.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 1st, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Pat’s funeral will be held from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 2nd, in Blessed Sacrament Church, 551 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. Memorial donations in Pat’s memory may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Drive, Suite 105, Danvers, MA 01923.
