Biography
WORCESTER - Norman R. Glick, 88, of Palm Beach, FL passed away at his summer residence in Worcester on Wednesday, May 24th. Mr. Glick was born in Worcester a son of Samuel and Rose Glick and moved to Palm Beach, FL many years ago. Until his retirement he had worked in Worcester and in Palm Beach, Florida.
He was a graduate of Cushing Academy and Brown University.
Mr. Glick was the founder of Bancroft Securities, a stock brokerage firm located in downtown Worcester. He was also the founder of Bancroft Travel, which he ran for many years. His love for travel was a common theme throughout his life. He was fortunate to be able to travel the world, and viewed his many cruise ship vacations as a wonderful way to travel the world, see many countries, teach bridge to others, and meet new people; some of whom he sponsored enabling them to immigrate to the United States.
He was a member of Congregation Beth Israel and the Jewish Healthcare Center, both of Worcester.
Mr. Glick loved to spend time with his family and friends. He loved to travel and meet new people and delighted in a regular bridge group.
He leaves his brother, Edward M. Glick and his wife, Carol of Boynton Beach, Florida and Worcester; his beloved adopted family, Jadranko and Seherzada Visnjic and his grandchildren, Dennis Visnjic and Daniela Visnjic of Holden; his nephews, Lawrence J. Glick and his family, Holly, Amanda, Rachel and Sara of Sudbury, Jonathan H. Glick and his family, Karen, Jared, Shannon of Holden and Alyson of Alexandria, VA; his niece, Suzanne Glick Gilfix and her family, Ron, Adam, Zachary and Talia of Southborough. He also leaves his very dear friend, Herling Kelejan of Worcester; as well as his many friends in Florida, including Ken Lyons.
He was especially grateful to his loving care providers, Armando, Nelly, Lucy and Jackie who cared for him day and night in recent years.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 12:30 PM TODAY, FRIDAY, MAY 26, AT CONGREGATION BETH ISRAEL ON 15 JAMESBURY DRIVE IN WORCESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN. Burial will be in B’Nai Brith Cemetery.
Memorial Observance will be held announced at the time of the funeral service.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
