Biography

WORCESTER – Norma A. (Kaplan) Porter, 90, formerly of Shrewsbury and Worcester died on Sunday, September 24, 2017 in Manassas, Virginia.
Her husband of 60 years, Richard L. Porter died in 2007. She leaves a daughter, Lisa, wife of Reed Graham of Manassas, VA; a son, Edward Porter and his wife, Lorraine of Margate, FL; six grandchildren, Robyn Guarino, Tracey Conant, Jamey Dhanraj, Daniel Graham, Kimberly Graham, and Molly Graham; seven great-grandchildren, Joshua, Ryan, Brandon, Emily, Patrick, Stevie and Eva. She was predeceased by her son, Neil Porter and by her sister, Barbara Katz.
She was born and raised in Ware, MA a daughter of Louis and Eva (Vitkin) Kaplan and had lived in Worcester for 16 years, then Shrewsbury for 20 years moving to Virginia 20 years ago.
Norma first was a teller for Worcester County National Bank and later was a senior loan officer.
GRAVESIDE FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 11:00 AM ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 28TH IN B’NAI BRITH CEMETERY, ON ST. JOHN’S ROAD IN WORCESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN.
Memorial Observance will be announced at the time of the funeral service.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 or to the Torah Repair Fund of Congregation Ner Shalom, P.O. Box 2085, Woodbridge VA 22195.
