WEST BOYLSTON/HUBBARDSTON – Norma M. (Sundstrom) Hohne, beloved wife of the late Gordon F. Hohne, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at The Overlook in Charlton. Born and raised in Worcester, she was a daughter of C. Harry and Evelyn (Ribb) Sundstrom.
Norma graduated from Commerce High School and soon began her secretarial career, working for several area churches. She retired in 1992 after 35 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Worcester for many years. Norma was proud of her Swedish and Scandinavian culture and was an avid member of Vasa Order of America, having served as District Master, Grand Lodge Deputy, District Secretary of District Lodge of Massachusetts #2 and Quinsigamond Lodge #517. Norma enjoyed nothing more than the time she spent with her grandchildren throughout the years.
She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her son, Robert Hohne and his wife, Catherine of Mattapoisett; her two daughters, Wendy Hohne of Hubbardston and Pamela Genelli and her husband, James of Hubbardston; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Gordon.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3 in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Appropriate Covid-19 protocol will be observed including the use of face masks and social distancing. Norma will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
