Nora T. O'Shea

RUTLAND – Nora T. O’Shea, 85, of Rutland, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Hospital under the loving care of her family and dear friends on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Born and raised in Worcester, Nora was the daughter of the late John M. and Ellen M. (Falt) O’Shea and lived in Worcester before moving to Rutland in 2003. Nora graduated from North High School in Worcester and attended Becker College, the Parson School of Design in New York and the Worcester Art Museum. She was the manager at Donna’s Tall Girl Shoppe in Worcester and Sturbridge where she worked for ten years. Previously, Nora worked in the art department at Richard Healy Department Store and later as a buyer for fourteen years at Lane Bryant, both in Worcester. Nora was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Rutland and a former member of St. Bernards Church in Worcester where she served as a Lector, a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Legion of Mary. She will be affectionately remembered and missed by her two nephews; Edmund J. Butkiewicz and his wife, Anne of Rutland and Paul W. Butkiewicz of Rutland with whom she lived; foster niece, Cathy Racine Singleton and her husband, Michael of Westerville, OH; foster nephew, John Racine and his wife, Sandy of Fairfield, OH; four grandnephews, Jonathan, Justin, Marc and Jamie Butkiewicz; two foster grand nieces, Grace and Rose; two beloved kittens, Precious and Cowgirl. Besides her parents Nora was predeceased by her sister, Mary Butkiewicz; her nephew, John J. Butkiewicz; and her foster brother; Victor “Dickie” Racine.
