S Theodora N. (North) Anderson

LEOMINSTER / ORMOND BEACH, FL - Theodora N. (North) Anderson, 90, of Ormond Beach, FL passed away on Monday, May 9, 2011. She was born in Summit, New Jersey on February 8, 1921 to Eric and Gladys North. Mrs. Anderson graduated from Wellesley College and received her graduate degree from Columbia University. In 1945, she married Frederic Anderson and after their four children were grown, she worked as a medical social worker in Ayer. Theodora was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. After retiring in 1981, she and her husband moved from Concord to Ormond Beach, Florida.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Ormond Beach, the Oceanside Country Club and the Halifax River Yacht Club. Throughout her life she contributed to many social service projects. She volunteered at Family Renew, an organization to support families in transition, and at the Pregnancy Crisis Center. Her hobbies included gardening, tennis, reading, crossword puzzles, and bridge.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol and her husband, Stephen Lin of Princeton, NJ; sons, Eric Anderson and his wife, Maureen of Pittsburgh, PA, twins, Peter Anderson and his wife, Laura of Concord and daughter, Diane and her husband, Brian Hobbs of Princeton. Mrs. Anderson also leaves six grandchildren, Nicholas, Eric, Conor, Kristyn, Benjamin, and Reid. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Funeral services were private and under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
