HOLDEN – Hop Nguyen, 49, of Tyler Drive, died Friday, October 16, 2009 in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, after an illness.
He leaves his mother, Huu Ngo Nguyen of Holden; three brothers, Hoa Nguyen of Worcester, Hue and Huong Nguyen both of Holden; four sisters, Thanh Nguyen and Hoa Nguyen Lee, both of Worcester, and Loi and Lan Nguyen both of Holden; and 16 nephews and nieces. A sister, Nghia Thi Nguyen died in 1993.
Hop was born in Hue, Vietnam, son of the late Ai Nguyen. He and his family came to the United States in 1975 during the invasion of South Vietnam by the North Vietnamese. He was a graduate of Sylvania Technical School and was a technician for Digital Equipment Corporation for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours and a prayer service from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Hop's funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 21st, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, 1326 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
