SHIRLEY – Private First Class Nathaniel Dane Thibault, 23, formerly of Shirley, died Friday, March 14, 2008 at Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, WA, from cardiac complications.
He leaves his wife of one year, Beth J. (Drugge) Thibault, a former resident of Lancaster; and his brother, Phillip M. Thibault of Fitchburg. He was the son of the late Kim M. Thibault. He was born on June 26, 1984 in Concord and was a graduate of Nashoba Technical High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on April 19, 2006 as a 74D Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Specialist and attended Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard, Wood, Missouri. On November 7, 2006, Nathaniel was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 110th Chemical Battalion (Technical Escort) as a Chemical Operations Specialist. He graduated from the Technical Escort course in December of 2007 at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. His awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.
Those whom knew Nathaniel were blessed by his optimistic spirit and have many great memories of his spontaneous adventures. Even though Nathaniel was taken from us so very early, he will live a lifetime in our hearts. He is loved and will be greatly missed by countless friends and surrogate families.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 28th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. The funeral service for Nathaniel will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 29th, in the First Church in Sterling, 6 Meeting House Hill Road, Sterling. Burial will follow in the Shirley Village Cemetery, Shirley.
