WORCESTER - Natalie "Nat" (Sharigian) Laurie of Saratoga Drive, Worcester, age 91, died peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2014, surrounded by those who love her most, her family.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Garabed Sharigian. Natalie is predeceased by her husband, Alfred, whom she shared her life and heart. She leaves a son, Richard and his wife, Maureen of Newport, RI; a daughter, Marie, wife of Robert Morris of Worcester; 4 grandchildren, Robert Morris and his partner, Lori Felix of Jacksonville, FL, Brian Morris and his partner, Trish Valiton of Sturbridge, Jamie-Lynn (Morris), wife of Jon Cederlund of Worcester, and Shane Laurie of Newport; all whom were her greatest joy. She also leaves six great-grandchildren who were as she would say "God's gift", Samantha and Sarah Morris of Jacksonville, FL, Jacob, Jessica and Jonathan Cederlund of Worcester, and Noah Laurie of Newport; and four extended great-grandchildren she thought the world of, Mikayla, Alan, Alexis and Jennifer; as well as several nieces and nephews. Natalie was the youngest of six: three sisters, Alice, Mary and Helen, and two brothers, Kenneth and Jacob, who all predeceased her.
Natalie received her education here in Worcester, graduating from Commerce High School. She spent most of her life being a stay at home mother. She later worked part time at Denholms and Iandolis supermarket. She was a member of St. George's parish in Worcester.
She loved to crochet afghans, and bake the most amazing banana bread for her family and friends, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She enjoyed taking walks, loved nature-especially bird watching. She was at her happiest when being surrounded by her family. She will always be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Those wishing to say good-bye and share a memory, the calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 24, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, at St. George's Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester, followed by burial in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester.
