Nancy E. Lucier

June 16, 1952 — March 3, 2024

WEST BOYLSTON - Nancy E. Lucier, 71, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family after a long illness.

Nancy was a lifelong resident of West Boylston and a dedicated public servant. Nancy held a distinguished career with the Town of West Boylston, which culminated with her serving as Town Administrator. She cared deeply about the town and its residents. Nancy championed many initiatives to improve the community, and was especially proud to have secured grants to install much-needed sidewalks. She was friendly, outgoing, and resourceful, and leaves behind a legacy of accomplishments.

Nancy treasured time spent with her family and friends, and loved being outdoors. One of her greatest joys was fishing with her husband throughout New England and competing in local tournaments. She enjoyed gardening, hiking the trails of Monadnock and Shenandoah, walking the Rail Trail, and taking in the salt air in Wells, Maine. Nancy embraced these and so many other adventures, living every day to the fullest.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Lucier of West Boylston; her daughter, Jennifer Lucier of Arlington, VA; her son, Christopher Lucier of West Boylston; and her sister, Jane (Morris) Basque, her spouse, Clifford Basque, and their children. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Morris, and her mother, Susan (Rotti) Morris.

Those who knew Nancy know she preferred the background over the spotlight and would rather give than receive. In lieu of services, and to honor Nancy’s passions, donations can be made in her name to the Friends of Beaman Memorial Public Library Endowment Fund ( www.beamanlibrary.org ) and Wachusett Greenways ( www.wachusettgreenways.org ). Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
