Nancy Teachout Gardner of Leominster MA, formerly of West Boylston died on August 19th at the age of 96. Nancy was the daughter of William Trafford Teachout and Elizabeth (Temple) Teachout. She was born in Bennington, Vermont and grew up in Upton before settling in West Boylston, where she graduated from high school and raised her family. She spent thirty years in the Bradenton, Florida area with her dear friend, Patricia Newton.
Nancy graduated from Colby Sawyer College and worked at Clark University and the West Boylston Congregational Church before establishing a long career at Norton Company as an employment manager.
Nancy travelled extensively, leading her West Boylston girl scout troop to Mexico, taking her family for camping adventures around the eastern half of the U.S. and Canada, and in retirement, cruising in the Caribbean and touring Europe several times with her friend, Pat. She enjoyed a full life of camping and sports and loved golf and watching football. She spent her last five years at Sunrise Assisted Living in Leominster MA.
Nancy leaves her son, Rick and his wife, Sara of Princeton, MA; and her son, Peter and his wife Janeen of Belmond, Iowa. In addition, she leaves seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Nancy is preceded in passing by her daughter, Sally Clinton.
No calling hours are planned, and the family will plan for a memorial service at some point in the future.
