Nancy (Conforti) Fraser

August 12, 1930 — November 20, 2013

WEST BOYLSTON – Nancy (Conforti) Fraser, 83, of Prescott St., passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Leominster Health Alliance after a brief period of declining health. Nancy was born and raised in the Oakdale section of West Boylston, the daughter of Frank and Marion (Tower) Conforti and had lived all of
her life in Oakdale and West Boylston.

Nancy graduated from Major Edwards High School in West Boylston and attended Becker Junior College and Quinsigamond Community College both in Worcester. She started her distinguished career as a secretary at the Norton Co. in Worcester, before accepting a position in the West Boylston School District as a secretary to the superintendant at Major Edwards High School where her son attended school. Later, she became the assistant to the town accountant in West Boylston and a secretary in the student activities department at Quinsigamond Community College, where she continued her education taking night classes. Nancy strongly believed in the importance of a good education and encouraged her children to make the most of theirs while allowing them to follow their own interests. She finished her career at Algonquin Regional High School as the executive secretary to the superintendant, retiring in 1993.

She was a gifted crafter and loved quilting and sewing. Additionally, she enjoyed doing her crossword puzzles and avidly rooting on her favorite teams, the Red Sox and Patriots. She was a life-long member of the Oakdale United Methodist Church in West Boylston and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, William W. Fraser. She is survived by her son, W. Byron Fraser of West Boylston; a daughter, Muriel White of Lawrence; a sister, Marion Carter of Coshocton, OH; three grandchildren, Sondra Fraser, Zain Webb and Amira El Khatib; and a great-grandson, Michael Holan.

The family would like to thank the staff at Leominster Health Alliance for their compassionate care of Nancy during her illness.
