PAXTON - Nancy Carryl Duxbury, 89, of Paxton, peacefully passed away into heaven on April 22, 2021. Born on Oct. 10, 1931 in Worcester, Nancy was the daughter of Marjorie Hastings Gould and Joshua Franklin Gould of Worcester.
She was happily married to her love, Clifford S. Duxbury, Jr. on April 27, 1957.
She leaves two children, Beth-Anne Duxbury and Clifford Craig Duxbury, a son in law, Brian A. Pitts, daughter in law Tina Duxbury, her one grandson, Matthew Duxbury whom she loved so very much, and her two adored nieces, Taryn Lee Russell and Suzanne Russell. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Majorie Anne Russell.
Nancy graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester with the class of 1951, and Becker Junior College in 1956.
She was employed at Norton Company in Worcester as the personal secretary to Mr. Clifford Duxbury, the man she fell in love with, her soul mate and ultimately her husband.
After their marriage, Nancy resided with her husband in Paxton where they started their journey and raised a family. Something that Nancy cherished with all her heart. She was a Paxton resident for 63 years.
Nancy was a devout Christian and a devoted member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Worcester, where she was baptized, sang with the choir, member of Wesley’s Methodist Youth Group, and was a Sunday School teacher. Later, she was married, witnessed both her children baptized, and watched her daughter marry at a place she felt and trusted God.
Nancy was an incredible artist and painter. She learned to play the piano at a young age from her mother and sang in her church choir for many years. She loved to skate when the ice froze on the pond at Elm Park in Worcester. She also baby sat to support her mother and younger sister after her dad’s passing.
She was a devoted wife and mother, and loved her family with all her heart and soul. Traveling with her husband Cliff was always a priority. She always supported her daughter’s skating career, the early morning practice sessions, the competitions and later performing with Disney On Ice. She also provided her son Craig with opportunities for the expression of his musical creativity, whether it was schooling or providing transportation, anything for him to thrive as a young man. Her commitment to her children was endless.
Her heart was always open to helping people. She cared for the elderly, and was always willing to give to those in need. A true servant of God.
