HOLDEN – Nancy A. (Woodward) Burns, 72, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at UMass Memorial Healthcare – University Campus after an illness. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Donald E. and Margaret I. (Nolan) Woodward and had lived most of her life in Holden.
She leaves her sister, Susan Paciello and her husband, Michael of Holden; her brother, James Woodward of Charlton; her nieces, Lori Paciello and Lisa Corazzini and her husband, Bobby, all of Holden; her grand-nieces, Madison, Hannah, Livia, Angelina, and Gabby; and her grand-nephew, Michael; her Nolan cousins; and a special dear friend, Carol Walsh, and her loving family.
Nancy graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in science from Endicott College. She was a loan office at Central One Federal Credit Union in Shrewsbury for 25 years before retiring. Previously, she worked at People’s Bank. In her leisure, Nancy loved a good book and spending her summers in Rye’s Beach, NH with family.
The family would like to thank the staff at 3-ICU at UMass-University Campus for the exceptional care she received.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Nancy’s family on Thursday, March 16th from 2 to 3 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168
