Nancy J. (Gauvreau) Ball

June 3, 1942 — May 21, 2021

PRINCETON - Nancy J. (Gauvreau) Ball, 78, beloved wife of Charles C. Ball, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 21, 2021. Born in Fitchburg and raised in Princeton, she was the daughter of Leo and Emma (Linnus) Gauvreau. It was her mother that gave her the strong Finnish heritage.

At age 15, she met the true love of her life and ultimate soul mate, Chuck at a local diner in Princeton called Mona’s. Shortly after her high school graduation, they married on June 25, 1960 and together raised their children in Princeton. Nancy was a lover of nature and outdoors. Throughout their lives Nancy and Chuck would always be seen together, whether it be gardening and tending to the beautiful flowers in the yard, fishing and hunting side by side or just enjoying the outdoors. Both Nancy and Chuck took pride in their yard and on a summer day you could see them sitting together on their special granite bench in their backyard. She was also a talented wildlife photographer who took great pride in photographing the birds and wildlife that could be found in her own back yard. Friends and Family will cherish the beautiful Christmas Cards she sent each year with a photo of a recent backyard guest.

But most of all, Nancy cherished her family and her Finnish traditions. She filled her days caring for her loving family. Home was where the heart was. She and Chuck never missed a sporting event of their daughters’ while both in elementary and high school. Between Nancy and Chuck, they could accomplish anything and were always there to help others in need. While she worked part time when her daughters were young, she instilled a strong worth ethic and happily retired after over 32 two years at Sterling Manufacturing. Nancy was a member of the First Congregation Church in Princeton. She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her soul mate, Charles, with whom she would have celebrated 61 years of marriage in June, her two daughters, Janice Scesny and her husband, James of Clinton, Jeanie Connolly and her husband, Robert of Princeton, her sister Dorothy Ohlson of Oakdale, her four grandchildren, Evan and Chelsea Wrzesinski and Robbie and Emma Connolly, a sister-in-law, Judy Cote and her husband Bruce of Fitchburg, a sister-in-law, Elsie Ball of Princeton, along with several nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by an infant son, Charles C. Ball, Jr., a brother, Fred Gauvreau; and three sisters, Francis Rice, Irene Kowalczk and Jean Trudeau.

At Nancy’s request there are no calling hours. Nancy will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Princeton, MA during a private graveside service. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
