Myrtle J. (Pouppeville) Mccumber

WORCESTER/PRINCETON – Myrtle J. (Pouppeville) McCumber, 93, passed away peacefully at her son’s home in Worcester on Sunday, September 30, 2018 with her loving family by her side.

She will be remembered by her son, Michael McCumber and his wife, Ruth of Worcester; two grandsons, Matthew and his wife, Laurie of Worcester and Christopher McCumber of California; two great grandchildren, Ryan and Hannah McCumber; nephews and nieces including, Joseph, Edson, and George Harrington, Paul and Patrick Morrison, and Susan Bonnevie. Myrtle is predeceased by a brother, Auguste Pouppeville and two sisters, Elise Harrington and Louise Morrison.

Born in Rutland and raised in Princeton, Myrtle was the daughter of Auguste and Harriet (Hatstat) Pouppeville and lived her adult life in Worcester before moving back to Princeton.

Myrtle attended Princeton schools and graduated High School in Worcester. She furthered her education by later attending Salter Secretarial School. After graduating high school, Myrtle worked as a waitress at the former Denholm and McKay Department Store in Worcester and later worked over 20 years at State Mutual Life Assurance Co.

She lived a full and rich life and cherished spending time with her family.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Myrtle’s family from 11 to 12 noon on Friday, October 5, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden followed by a funeral service honoring her life at 12 noon. Interment will be held at Rural Glen Cemetery in Hubbardston.
