Myron 'Sonny' Wronski

STERLING – Myron “Sonny” Wronski, Jr., 74, of Princeton Rd., died at Clinton Hospital on Monday, August 12, 2013, after a lengthy illness. Born at his family’s farm in Sterling on September 8, 1938, Sonny was the son of Myron A. and Stephanie M. (Nicholas) Wronski and lived there his entire life.

Sonny was introduced to Patricia Ann Witkowski through friends in 1959 and in 1961 they married and raised their family in Sterling. He worked at Norton Company in Worcester for 35 years, retiring in 2000. Sonny was an avid outdoorsman and passionately embraced fishing, hunting and trap shooting. He loved the ocean and time spent with his son striped bass fishing off Monomoy Island on Cape Cod. In his spare time, you could find Sonny fishing at his favorite local fishing hole at Comet Pond. Locally, Sonny was known for his award-winning fly tying and pumpkins that he and his son grew weighing over 800 lbs.

In his youth, Sonny loved playing baseball and was known for his knuckle ball. He later played for 15 years on the Norton Company’s softball league. Sonny was a member of the Eight Point Sportsman’s Club in Sterling, North Leominster Rod and Gun Club and was a former member of the Camp Bartlett Rod and Gun Club in Leominster.

His beloved wife of 27 years, Patricia Ann (Witkowski) Wronski died in June of 1988. He leaves his son, David Michael Wronski and his partner, Joe Paquin of Fitchburg; his daughter, Lisa A. Martel and her fiancé Brian Cristman of Princeton; three sisters, Elizabeth V. Surette of Framingham, Marion S. Blais and Patricia E. Beddie of Worcester; two grandchildren, Emily and Olivia Martel; many nephews and nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 16, at Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling. A funeral service honoring Sonny’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, at the funeral home, followed by interment at St. John’s Cemetery in Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
