HOLDEN – Barbara M. (Webber) Davis, 82, formerly of Wentworth Drive in Holden, died peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2008 in Knollwood Nursing Center, West Boylston.
Her husband of 57 years, Frederick A. Davis, died in 2002. She leaves two daughters, Carol L. Briggs and her husband Oliver of Jefferson and Susan L. Shooshan and her companion James Chabot of Shrewsbury; three grandchildren, Amy L. Briggs of Jefferson, Julie M. Maynard and her husband Brian of Suffolk, Virginia, and Mark A. Shooshan of Worcester; two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Audrey Maynard; and a sister, Betty Penney and her husband Norman of Holden. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of John A. and Lottie (Martin) Webber, and lived in Holden for 61 years.
Barbara was a graduate of South High School. She worked as the office secretary for Farm Family Insurance in Holden for over 25 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Holden and enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara's family would like to extend sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff at Summit Elder Care for their care and compassion.
A private graveside service will be held at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, 5th floor, Boston, MA 02210. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, is directing arrangements.
