WORCESTER – Murry Rudnick, 88 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Born in Boston and raised in Worcester, Murry was the son of Haskell and Rose (Kaplan) Rudnick and lived here all of his life.
Murry was a 1945 graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester. While in his senior year in high school, he enlisted into the Unites States Navy and honorably served his country being stationed in the Galapagos Islands. He attended Worcester Junior College and graduated from Syracuse University. In 1948, Murry married the love of his life, Gladys Kessler, and together they raised their three children in Worcester. He worked many years at his family’s business, Rudnick & Meagher Co. in Worcester. He later co-owned and operated Fox Travel Agency in Worcester with his brother. He and his wife enjoyed many years of travel around the world.
He leaves his wife of 66 ½ years, Gladys H. (Kessler) Rudnick; a daughter, Carol R. Kirchick and her husband, Bill of Dover; two sons, Ronald S. Rudnick and his wife Nellie, of Chatham and Andrew J. Rudnick and his wife, Catherine of Boca Raton, FL; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by three brothers, Oscar, Leo and Philip Rudnick.
A funeral service for Murry will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 25, at Temple Emanuel Sinai, 661 Salisbury St., Worcester. Burial will follow at B’nai Brith Cemetery. A Memorial Observance will be held at Temple Emanuel Sinai, 661 Salisbury Street, Worcester from 5pm to 7pm, Tuesday, August 25 with a Minyan service to be held at 6pm.
