LAFAYETTE, LOUISANA – Muriel V. (Prue) Yarrington, 83, formerly of Paxton, died Friday, June 11, 2004, in Lafayette, Louisana. Her husband of 53 years, Earl J. Yarrington, died in 1996; she leaves two daughters, Susan E. Drenkow of Clifton, Virginia and Leslie Ann DeLong of Lafayette, Louisana; four grandchildren, Catherine E. Todaro, Carolyn Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson and Brian Winder; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Louis Prue, Frank Prue, David Prue and three sisters, Helen Simonds, Marguerite Cicia and Dolly Prue, predeceased her. She was born in Holden, daughter of Clarence H. and Catherine Ann (Cassidy) Prue, and lived in Paxton for 35 years and Florida for 10 years before moving to Lafayette.
Mrs. Yarrington worked as a claims representative for Social Security for 16 years before retiring. She was a child of God and a prayer warrior. She was a member of the Open Door Church in Claremont, Florida.
Mrs. Yarrington’s funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery, 251 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. A calling hour will be from 12:00 to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral.
