S Rosamond M. (Smith) Martin

HOLDEN – Rosamond M. (Smith) Martin, 80, of Flagler Drive, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2008 in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester after an illness.

Rosamond was born in Fitchburg, the daughter of Howard J. and Mable H. (Gray) Smith, and lived 16 years in Holden. She graduated in 1948 from Commerce High School in Worcester where she studied art and music appreciation. She later worked 15 years at Norton Company in Worcester.

She leaves her husband of 61 years, John J. Martin; two daughters, Rosamond Ann Northup of East Brookfield and Christine M. Martin of Worcester; two grandsons, Jason M. Perro and his wife Melissa of Leicester and Michael A. Perro and his wife Amy of Spencer; and four great-grandchildren, Megan, Tommy, Ashlyn and Michael Perro.

Rosamond was a loving and devoted mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother. She touched the hearts of those who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing her.

A memorial service for Rosamond will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 4th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, 1290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1332 North Halsted Street, Suite 201, Chicago, IL 06022.
