HOLDEN – Gary M. Peacock, 58, of 5 Edgewood Drive, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006, in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after a year long struggle with cancer.
He leaves his wife of 37 years, Jane M. (McNamara) Peacock; his son, Michael D. Peacock and his wife Marlene of Franklin; his daughter, Erin M. Hughes and her husband Steven of Natick; two brothers, Ted Peacock of Calhern, Colorado and Glenn Peacock of Worcester; a sister, Janet Railey of Lodi, California; two grandchildren, Autumn and Hannah Hughes; several nieces and nephews. He was born in Montebello, California, son of Wendell D. and Charlotte Wolford, and has lived in Holden for 33 years.
Gary was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a long distance truck driver for over 20 years and most recently Fleet Manager for Western Logistics, Inc. of North Bergen, New Jersey. Gary enjoyed working around the house and neighborhood. He treasured his time with his children and grandchildren; always there to lend a helping hand – or have a cup of coffee.
Calling hours for Gary are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 17, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
