HOLDEN – Susan M. (Palmer) Wright, 61, of Holden, died surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 8, 2009 in Holden Nursing Home after a long struggle with Multiple Sclerosis.
She is survived by her mother, Marguerite H. (Quigley) Palmer of Leicester; her three brothers, Thomas A. Palmer and his wife Therese of Holden, Christopher M. Palmer and his wife Kathy of Worcester and Peter A. Palmer and his wife Susan of Boylston; three sisters, Anne L. Lyons and her husband James of Worcester, Catherine E. Palmer and her husband Tim Lum of San Francisco and Mary E. Antanavica and her husband Ken of Leicester; many nieces and nephews.
Susan was born on June 3, 1947 in Worcester, the daughter of the late Willis L. Palmer, Jr. and lived in Silver Springs, Maryland, before moving to Holden in 1998. She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy and attended Quinsigamond Community College. She spent her career in women's fashion and managed a women's clothing store in Maryland. She was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Boston Red Sox and N.E. Patriots. Her passions included sports cars, horses, cats and the outdoors.
Susan's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the loving staff at Holden Nursing Home who Susan considered her extended family.
At the family's request, funeral services will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to the Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place-West, 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden is directing arrangements.
