WORCESTER - Morris Lapin died on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester. Morris was born and raised in Worcester, on March 24, 1914. He was the beloved husband to Sarah “Sylvia” Lapin formerly Sylvia Wolfe.
Morris and Sylvia met in 1937 and were married in 1944. His adoration and love for his wife was powerful – they shared a deep-rooted friendship and mutual respect. You would often find them holding hands or stealing a kiss up until the end of his life.
Morris served honorably in the U.S army for four years. He also spent a long career in sales including cars, spirits, insurance and commercial art. His honest and engaging personality was a winning character trait. He had a strong work ethic and a deep rooted love and appreciation for family. It was his family that he cherished and appreciated above all else. He was forgiving, loving, patient and accepting.
He celebrated his 100th birthday, in grand style, with his family and friends.
Besides his wife of 70 years, he is survived by two daughters, Janice wife of Mark Hirsch and Marilyn wife of Mark Goldman; four devoted granddaughters, Elissa Eitelberg, Debra wife of Andrew Wolfe; Risa wife of Scott Burgess; and Laura Goldman; six great grandchildren whom he loved endlessly –Taylor and Jordan Eitelberg, Max and Brooke Burgess and Elan and Sofia Wolfe; his brother Louis “Louie” Lapin of Worcester and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Morris’ outlook on life was remarkable – he loved people, all kinds he would say, he could talk to anyone, and he did. He was delightful with a fantastic sense of humor and a zest for life. Morris was young at heart. He spent the last nine years of his life living at the Gery and Emil Eisenberg Assisted Living Residence and thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the staff and support.
