RUTLAND – Morris H. Viner, 95, of 1 Pleasantdale Road, a life-long resident of Rutland, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 in Oakdale Nursing Home.
His wife, Hazel M. (Harris) Viner, died in 1976. He leaves his daughter, Marjorie “Sue” A. Soucy and her husband Henry J. of Rutland; a grandson, James Soucy and his wife Patricia of Rutland; a granddaughter, Sheryl Cuilla and her husband Thomas of Carmel, Indiana; five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas, and Lauren Cuilla and Jaimie and Cameron Soucy; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Kenneth Viner, and sisters Marjorie Viner, Myrtle Ericson and Thelma Kostas, brothers Lloyd and Douglas.
Morris was born on July 30, 1910 in Rutland, son of Charles E. and Mary A. (Demond) Viner. He was a plumber for many years for Tucker and Rice Contracting Company and was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #4, retiring in 1972. He loved to travel, was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Rutland Sportsmen’s Club.
The funeral service for Morris will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home prior to the service. Spring burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Rutland. Please omit flowers.
