S Catherine M. (Mcgrann) Streeter

STERLING – Catherine M. (McGrann) Streeter, 86, of Pleasant View Ave., passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on Tuesday, February 8, 2011.
Her husband, George E. Streeter, Sr., died in 1988. Catherine was the mother of nine children. Her son, George E. Streeter, Jr. passed away in June of 2006; she was also predeceased by a granddaughter, Faith A. Streeter. She is survived by her six daughters, Mary DeFeudis of Northboro, Elizabeth Samuelson of Toledo, OH, Eileen Streeter of Roslindale, Catherine Pearson of West Boylston, Evelyn Geer of Rutland, VT, and Anne Atkins of Holden; two sons, Joseph Streeter of Morrisville, VT and Thomas Streeter of Barton, VT; a dear sister, Mary McGrann of Barnegate, NJ; and twenty grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
Catherine was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on May 2, 1924 to Thomas and Kathryn (Murphy) McGrann. She grew up in Pleasantville, New Jersey, moving to Worcester after marrying George E. Streeter, Sr. in 1945. She has lived in Sterling for the last 55 years where she was active in St. Richard of Chichester Church, her "friend's" group, and loved to travel. Her greatest love and purpose in life was her family. Catherine touched the lives of many with her grace and beautiful ways. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 12th, at St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Sterling. Catherine loved the Calliope Theatre in Boylston, and in lieu of flowers, she requests that donations be made to the Calliope Productions, Inc., P.O. Box 581, Boylston, MA 01505. Miles-Sterling Funeral Home and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling, is assisting the family with arrangements.
