PRINCETON ~ Lois M. (Grout) MacGeachey, 80, of Worcester Road, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in Sterling Village, Sterling after a lengthy illness.
She leaves her beloved husband of 54 years, Jim "Russ" MacGeachey; 2 sons, James R. MacGeachey, Jr. and John R. MacGeachey; 2 sisters, Marjorie Cole and her husband Durward of Princeton and Beverly Mason of Rutland; a grandson, John R. MacGeachey; 2 nephews, William Mason and Robert Mason both of Rutland; a great nephew and 2 great nieces. She was born in Holden the daughter of Chester and Ethel (Harrington) Grout and lived her entire life in Princeton.
Mrs. MacGeachey graduated from Princeton High School and the Worcester Girls Trade School. For over 40 years, along with her husband and two sons, she owned and operated the Wachusett Cider Mill in Princeton and worked as a bookkeeper for the Princeton Light Department. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Princeton.
The family of Mrs. MacGeachey would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Brookhaven Hospice and Sterling Village for their caring compassion during her stay.
The funeral service for Mrs. MacGeachey will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 28, 2010 in the First Congregational Church of Princeton, 14 Mountain Road, Princeton. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Princeton. There are no calling hours. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden is assisting the family with arrangements.
