STERLING - Isabelle M. (Keaveney) Pope, 84, of Gates Terrace, Sterling, died surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 14, 2008 in her daughter's home in Leicester.
She leaves her husband of 59 years, Richard J. Pope; two sons, Richard C. Pope and his wife Janet of Shrewsbury and Peter J. Pope and his wife Nancy of Jefferson; three daughters, Margaret A. Rezai-Zadeh and her husband Ahmad of Tampa, Florida, Catherine T. Thurlow and her husband Michael of Asheboro, NC, and Benita A. Notaro and her husband Rocco of Leicester; 12 grandchildren; a sister, Alice Kaminski of Long Island, New York; nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by the aunt who raised her, Margaret (Keaveney) Wuth. She was born in Flushing, New York, daughter of Peter and Catherine (Galvin) Keaveney, and had lived in Sterling for the last 55 years.
Mrs. Pope was a graduate of St. Bernard's High School in Fitchburg. She was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Church and its Women's Guild, and where she taught the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 18th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. The funeral for Mrs. Pope will be held on Tuesday from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Clinton Road (Rte. 62), Sterling. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UMass Memorial Home Health & Hospice, 650 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
