HOLDEN – Marjorie M. (Jeffrey) White, 88, of Briarcliff Lane, died Friday, January 30, 2009 in UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester, after an illness.
Her husband of 60 years, William F. White, died in December of 2003. She leaves her daughter with whom she lived, Marjorie "Marjie" M. Rogers; a granddaughter, Rebecca and her husband Antonia Iaria of Hingham; and two great-grandchildren, Marguerite and Isabella. Two brothers, Donald and Roy Jeffrey, predeceased her. She was born in Boston, daughter of Alexander A. and Mabel (Edson) Jeffrey, raised in Quincy and lived in Weymouth for many years before moving to Holden over 30 years ago.
Mrs. White graduated North Quincy High School. She was a member of Chaffin Congregational Church and its Mary Martha Circle and a member of the Holden Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting and crossword puzzles.
A memorial service for Mrs. White will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 7th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Memorial donations may be made to the Chaffin Congregational Church, 155 Shrewsbury Street, Holden, MA 01520.
