WEST BOYLSTON – Stephania M. (Jatrinski) Leonardi Salloum, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2011, under the loving care of her family and the staff at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester after an illness. Mrs. Salloum was born in Jefferson, the daughter of John and Mary (Vovicska) Jatrinski, and lived 54 years in West Boylston before recently moving to Spencer to live with her daughter.
Her husband, Eli D. Salloum died in 2002. She leaves four daughters, Katherine A. Whalen and her husband Paul of West Boylston, Karen M. Ricketts of Springhill, FL, Della A. Tornblom and her husband Jan of Spencer and Jean B. Macklin of Springhill, FL; three sisters, Katherine Morin of Northbridge and Mary and Genevieve in Poland; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Her first husband, Mario G. Leonardi, died in 1983. A son, John P. Leonardi and a daughter, Joan M. Leonardi, predeceased her. She is also predeceased by three brothers, Benjamin Jatrinski, Stanley Jatrinski and Joseph Jastrembski, and two sisters, Mary Kucharcyk and Genevieve Kozdrun.
Mrs. Salloum worked at Astra Pharmaceutical Co. in Worcester for many years and was a member of the Astra Retirees. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, enjoyed line dancing and spending time with her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 11, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester Street, West Boylston. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Care Hospice, Rose Monahan Home, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
