COCONUT CREEK, FL / WORCESTER - Miriam “Mimi” (Weinman) Conn, 94, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022. Loving wife of Sanford “Sandy” Conn, they were married for 64 years until his passing in 2016. Mimi was born on November 18, 1927, in Portland, ME, the daughter of Louis and Bella (Silverman) Weinman. She was predeceased by a brother, Ralph Weinman and sister, Pauline Ross.
Mimi will be lovingly remembered by her son, Michael Conn and his wife, Debra of Holden, and her daughter, Betsy Harris and her husband, Richard of Weare, NH.
Mimi also leaves five grandchildren, Benjamin Conn and his wife, Rebecca, Hailey Munns and her husband, Rory, Alexandra Conn, Sarah Harris and Samuel Harris, and four great-grandchildren, Asher and Ari Conn and Natalie and Harrison Munns.
Mimi graduated from Westbrook Junior College, Portland, ME. After marrying and having children, she proudly graduated Summa Cum Laude from Clark University in Worcester!
Mimi’s career included work as Personnel Director for Burrowes Storm Windows, WPOR Radio Copywriter, and Corps of Engineers Personnel Director. She worked for The Jewish Chronicle-Leader and eventually began her long career as Head Copywriter/Continuity Director for WNEB/WTAG in Worcester, retiring in 1992.
Mimi and Sandy moved to Coconut Creek, FL after Sandy sold his business Mac-Ben Sporting Goods. Mimi enjoyed playing Canasta and MahJong and was involved with many charitable organizations.
Mimi and Sandy were longtime members of Temple Emanuel Sinai in Worcester where Mimi was a member of ORT.
She loved Broadway and TV documentaries and comedy where she would often share comedy highlights with her son, Michael.
Her greatest joys were her grandchildren; whenever she had the chance would share pictures and anecdotes with people she met. They all called her Mimi and knew when she was with them, they could always share their thoughts and accomplishments all of which she always remembered.
Mimi had a quick wit and loved to surround herself with friends and family. Blessed with a great memory and humor to the end, she was able to converse with many and complete her beloved crossword puzzles in record time and left her indelible mark whomever she met.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 9 at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Burial will follow in B’nai Brith Cemetery in Worcester. Memorial Observance will be announced at the service.
