Minas ''Marty'' Minasian

RUTLAND – Minas “Marty” Minasian, 93, of 9 Pleasantdale Rd., died Wednesday, June 30, 2004 in Oakdale Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, Oakdale after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 65 years, Barbara L. (Evans) Minasian; three daughters, Dr. Doris Phillips of Bloomfield, Connecticut, Dawn Lussier of Jefferson and Dale Hayden of Rutland; four grandchildren, Kristina Greenfield of Rutland, Shawn S. Lussier of Jefferson, Jeremy and Jason Hayden both of Oakham; and a great-grandson, Owen Greenfield of Rutland. A brother, Karikian Minasian, predeceased him. He was born in Marash, Armenia, the son of Hajop and Doris (Eordikian) Minasian, and lived most of his life in Rutland.
Mr. Minisian was a licensed registered nurse and worked at the Rutland Veteran’s Hospital and later at Rutland Heights Hospital. He was a member of The First Congregational Church of Rutland. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and served in the European Theater.
A funeral service for Mr. Minasian will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 3, in Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, 142 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Rutland. A calling hour will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 3, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made First Congregational Church of Rutland, P.O. Box 484, Rutland, MA 01543.
