Michael A. Thebodo

January 13, 1982 — February 8, 2016

RUTLAND / HUBBARDSTON - The all too brief journey through life of Michael Andrew Thebodo, Jr., sadly ended on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the age of 34. Michael was born in Worcester and was raised in Hubbardston.

Michael attended Quabbin Regional High School and through the years, held several sales jobs that he excelled at. It was said that…“He could strike up a conversation and sell you anything”. Described mostly as a guy with a huge presence, both in existence and voice, he was in his element as the center of attention. Being quick witted, telling stories, or just being there to support his family and friends was truly Michael’s best quality. He was devoted to his family and was a supportive friend to many.  Even with little means, Michael would show up at a birthday party or holiday event with a little something for everyone. He possessed a larger heart than most.

Michael enjoyed a passion and knowledge for sports. Football was his go to, and as a dedicated and loyal Miami Dolphins fan, Mike could rattle off statistics about teams and players, past and present. But football was not the only sport he followed. Don’t bother Mike during March Madness, because his focus was on the games underway. As a youngster, Mike enjoyed playing organized basketball, but through the years, he was always ready for a pick-up game with whoever would join in.

Michael will be forever loved and deeply missed by his mother and stepfather, Colleen (Clark) and Dave Pope of Rutland; his three siblings, Nick Pope and his wife, Alicia of Barre, Keith Pope and his companion, Gina Aubin of Templeton and Angela Roseberry and her husband, Michael of Rutland; his father, Michael A. Thebodo of Shrewsbury; his maternal grandfather, Joseph Conroy, III of Deerfield Beach, FL; his paternal grandfather, Arthur Thebodo of Shrewsbury; several aunts, uncles and many cherished cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Michael’s family on Saturday, February 20, from 3-6 p.m. at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
