LANCASTER – Michael “Mickey” J. Kristoff, Jr., 88, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Lancaster, Mickey was the son of Michael J. and Mary Rose (Calcia) Kristoff and was a lifelong resident of Lancaster.
He attended Lancaster High School and honorably served his country in the United States Navy Reserve. Mickey’s employment included working at American Machine and Foundry, R.L. Culley Inc., Suprenant Cable and Wire Co. in Clinton, and the last nine years of his career as the head of maintenance for the Lancaster School Department.
Mickey was a member of the former First Baptist Church of Clinton and was presently attending Hope Chapel in Sterling. He enjoyed spending time at the barn, gardening, riding his red tractor, going out to eat and simply spending time with his family. Mickey’s favorite pastime was watching his beloved Boston Red Sox and classic westerns. He had an outstanding work ethic and would never put off a project that could be done today. Above all, Mickey loved his family and will be remembered for his perseverance and strong faith.
He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 65 years, Edith N. (Watson) Kristoff; two daughters, Gail A. Dumont and her husband, Timothy of Ashburnham and April M. Kristoff of Lancaster; five grandchildren, Jenna McNamara and her fiancé, Jeremiah Lewis, Joseph McNamara and his husband, Lux, Jaime Dumont McEvoy and her husband, Michael, Michael and Brandon Dumont; two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Lily McEvoy; and nephews and nieces. Besides his parents, Mickey is predeceased by a sister, Angelina Culley.
A funeral service honoring Mickey’s life was held privately at the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. Interment was held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Clinton.
