WORCESTER – Michael J. Lamb, 55, beloved husband of Mary (Turcotte) Lamb, passed away peacefully at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Worcester, he was the son of the late Jean (Lech) Lamb.
He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 32 years, Mary of Holden; his two daughters, Shannon Lamb and her partner, Patrick Rowe of No. Oxford; Katelynne Wimberly and her husband, Patrick of No. Brookfield; his father, Robert Lamb of Shrewsbury; his brother, James Lamb of Worcester; his sister, Justina Hunter and her husband, Christopher of Worcester; his grandson, Lincoln Wimberly; a niece, Rachel Quinn Hunter; his best friend, Michael Kenny of Worcester; and his faithful feline companions, Walter and Bear.
After attending Burncoat High School, Michael enjoyed a long career as a floral designer with Holmes-Shusas Florist. He was most recently employed as an assistant maintenance director at Bear Mountain Nursing Home. He was an enthusiast of all sports, there is no question that his favorite team was the Chicago Bears. Michael enjoyed annual trips to a football game, accompanied by Shannon; vacationing with his family and friends to Old Orchard Beach, where he always had his favorite lobster dinner; gatherings with his loved ones, especially if there was cornhole; preparing for and playing fantasy football. He was so excited to have a grandson to play catch with.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 12 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 13 at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Brain Injury Association of America P.O. Box 7416 Merrifield, VA 22116-7416.
Per Michael’s wishes, the family requests that you please wear your favorite sports attire when attending the service.
